—The Winnipeg Review
“The Roar of the Crowd is a terrific little mystery.”
—The Winnipeg Free Press
“We have lots of great Edmonton authors, but my fave is Janice MacDonald for her Randy Craig novels — #yeg and academia! I highly recommend The Roar of the Crowd, a celebration of the city’s theatre scene wrapped up in a murder mystery.”
—Kelly MacFarlane, University of Alberta lecturer
“Like a tourist guide wrapped in a wonderfully-written mystery story… makes you want to go to Edmonton and experience the vibrant cultural scene and explore the beautiful river valley. I think it’s time to plan a trip there, myself!”
—Marlyn Beebe, Crime Fiction Collective/Stuff and Nonsense
Praise for Janice MacDonald’s Randy Craig Mystery series:
“Janice MacDonald populates academe with real characters and puts the humanity back into the Humanities. Of course, she picks one or two of them off now and then, which is all right with me, too.”
—W.P. Kinsella, author of Shoeless Joe and Butterfly Winter
“Edmonton’s Janice MacDonald is the most literary of the new gang of Canadian fictional murderers.”
“Janice MacDonald does for Edmonton what Gail Bowen did for Regina, Saskatchewan. She rejects the frozen north stereotype by showing the ‘City of Festivals’ in all its lazy summer glory.”
